“Wherever a gentle soul has been...There is a trail of beautiful memories..."

Phyllis "Phoebe" Vigil 85, daughter of James and Marge Piro, sister to Jackie DiYorio and Jim Piro. Phoebe passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family, October 4, 2022. She is survived by her loving husband Ernest "Ernie" Vigil of 63 years. Phoebe was an amazing mother/grandmother to daughters Lori (Terry) Ratliff, Billi (Mike) Vigil, son Titus (Shannon) Vigil. Son-in-law Kenneth Staley and preceded in death daughter-in-law Tracy Vigil. Grandchildren; preceded in death Jaired (Allison) Staley, Brayden Staley, Stephen Vigil, Stewart Ratliff, Taylor Ratliff. Step grandchildren; Krystal (David) Miller, Kathy Miller, Lawrence Nicks, Chaz Nicks, Jennifer Nelson, Brian (Heather) Nelson, Timothy Fountain, Patrick Fountain, Joenathan Fountain, Ashlie and Shannon. One great grandson and 12 step-great grandchildren. Godchildren; Karen Murphy, Joe Johnson, Kris Jaramillo and Michael O'Leary. Also survived by In laws Pauline (Dan) Mascarenas and Morris Vigil, 3-generations of nieces and nephews, along with her innumerable extended heart family of friends ranging from as far back as her childhood.

Phoebe worked on the Centry 2 kidney dialysis system as an electronics technician at Cobe Laboratories, she retired in 1986. At which time she was able to dedicate herself to her two greatest passions, caring for her family and sharing her love of crafting through teaching ceramics and craft classes at Athmar and Harvey Park Recreation Centers and co-owner of Two Friends Ceramics. In 2001, Phoebe entered into her 2nd phase of retirement after Ernie retired from the Denver Post. They settled down and enjoyed the slower pace of life once their grandchildren were grown. Phoebe's love for reading kept her up late at night, a passion she handed down to her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed her weekly Bible study group, morning breakfast with Ernie and their friends and most importantly their daily phone conversations and weekly visits with their children and grandchildren.

On behalf of the Vigil family, We want to thank each and every one of you who have loved our mother throughout her lifetime. She loved your cards, your visits, your phone calls and most of all knowing you were praying for her. Our mother's heart was as big as her benevolent presence in any room. She loved life and she loved each of us for just who we are. We will never forget her or your kindness to her as she rests in the arms of Jesus.
