Carol Curtis-Plank Obituary

Former Red Cliff, Colorado resident, Carol Michelle Curtis-Plank passed away in her home on July 18th, 2022. She was born Sept. 11, 1964. She was predeceased by Teresa Dore & William (Bill) Curtis. The loving family of Carol Plank mourned her passing at the early age of 57. Carol passed away peacefully in her sleep.

Carol was a caring, thoughtful, and devoted wife to Mark E. Plank for over 20 years.  They were married on Cocoa Beach in 2001. Carol left behind a lot of surviving family members. Sisters: Angela (Angie) Gentry, Victoria (Vickie) Marie Curtis-Duran, and Sandra (Sandy) Lynn Curtis. Bothers: Anthony (Tony) Gentry, and John Edmond Curtis. Children: Samantha Lynn Sellers-Peterson, Michael Shane Sellers, Heather Michelle Sellers-Staley, Alexandra (Alex) Nicole Plank, Dylan Brody Plank, and Madison Erin Plank. Carol also had many amazing grandchildren: Brianna Sellers, Emma Peterson, Hope Sellers, Danny Sellers, Cody Sellers-Peterson, John Sellers-Peterson; Carlie Sellers, Grayson Sellers, Hailey Sellers, Colton Staley, Jaiden Staley, and Parker Plank. Among many others who are not listed.

Stepping into Carol’s home the first thing you would be greeted with was the smell of one of her many delicious and enticing recipes. Watching soap operas was her favorite past time, as well as conversing with Mark about any and everything. An avid animal lover, always bringing home strays and nurturing them (people too) back to life. Her home was never dull, nor was it ever without a thick cloud of love. One thing is without a doubt, she never passed judgement on anyone.

Carols personality was truly radiant, and she never failed to let it show when you were around her. Whether it would be her snorting laugh, or her unique sense of humor, she never struggled to brighten up the room. She hardly ever missed a day when it came to calling her loved ones and checking on them, for that was just the kind of person she was. Selfless and caring. Carol and Mark’s home was warm and welcoming; an inviting space for all. She had a habit of taking in and caring for anyone she could, as it was her intense sense of motherly instincts to do so.

Carol Plank was an amazing woman, mother, and friend. She will continue to be in all our hearts. Whether you are family or friend, be grateful you had the pleasure of knowing her, and feeling her love.

Thank you, Carol, for blessing us with the honor of knowing and loving you. You will be forever missed and your memory forever cherished.
