Doreen Maud Shultz

April 1, 1928 — February 18, 2016

Doreen Maud Place (born of Irish and Scottish descent) was born in Bury Saint Edmunds, England; August 1st, 1928. She lived through World War 2 and during that time she met the love of her life, Howard Emanuel Shultz, who was a soldier during the war. Doreen and Howard were soon married in the year of 1945 when she took his last name, Shultz. She eventually left England by ship and made her way to New York in the year of 1947 with her infant son, David Shultz, to begin her life anew. She began building her family with Howard when they moved to Illinois. While there, Doreen gave birth seven children, one of which passed away from Spina Bifida as an infant. David, Dorothy, Terry, Karen, Bessie (deceased), Tina, and Tammy; Seven children in total. Doreen was a stay at home wife and took wonderful care of her husband and children with the utmost love that a mother could give. In the year of 1970, with her children a little more grown, Doreen and Howard moved to Denver, Colorado with their family. In 1985, her husband Howard passed away and Doreen moved in with her daughter, Tina. Doreen was blessed with 12 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren during her life. Doreen spent many years filled with love, laughter, and family. On February 18, 2016 at approximately 4:30 AM Doreen passed on to be with her loved ones who were waiting for her in heaven. She died due to congestive heart failure, and built up fluid complications. She was a caring, loving, and giving mother who will be sorely missed.Funeral will be at 10:30 AM Thursday, February 25, 2015 at Servants Heart Church, 6405 Monaco Street., Commerce City, CO 80022. Interment will follow at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, Colorado.
