A direct cremation is inherently the most manageable funeral option, where the cremation takes place in the days immediately following the passing, without a viewing or funeral service beforehand.
When we refer to the process of making arrangements, we are generally looking for you to provide some basic information for the initial purpose of coordinating transfer into our care and transportation to our facilities.
How to make arrangements
You can make arrangements online or over the phone at any time — our care team is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Transfer of care and transportation logistics
Once you have completed the arrangements form, you must notify the pickup facility to authorize transfer into our care. We will then arrange for pickup and transportation to our facilities.
Optionally, you may publish an obituary for public notification
As an optional benefit, we welcome you to commemorate the life of your loved one and let others know when and where services will be held by publishing an obituary on our website.
From the information provided in the arrangements form, we will file the death certificate on your behalf. We will also need authorization from the family to obtain a permit before we can proceed with the cremation process.
Registration of death records
We register the death on your behalf and notify the appropriate agencies electronically, which updates state-wide records in real-time. By doing so, we can quickly acquire certified copies of death records, if requested.
Authorization to Cremate
Cremation Providers in the State of Colorado are legally required to obtain authorization from representing family members before they can proceed with the cremation of a body.
To do so, we use a legal document known as a Cremation Authorization Form, which defines our legal obligations to you, describes the cremation process in detail, and allows for the representing family members to designate how the remains should be returned.
Cremation Permit
Once the death certificate and authorization form have been filed, the county in which the cremation is to take place issues a permit allowing the crematory, or funeral home, to go ahead and proceed with the actual cremation.
You can trust that our team will work with care and compassion during the cremation of your loved one, just like we’ve done for over 30 years. All containers are marked and labeled to ensure that cremated remains are placed in their designated urn or container before they are returned.
Commemorative Urns and Keepsakes
Many families like to memorialize the passing of a loved one by sealing their remains in a commemorative urn, keepsake, or jewelry. You can find an assortment of options on our Memorializations page.
After placed in their designated urn or container, we offer a flexible range of options for the return of cremated remains. You are welcome to pick them up in person, have them hand-delivered, or shipped via USPS Express Mail Overnight.
